Stena Forth joins UK Register
Stena Forth is a new-build drill ship of 58,294 GT which joined the UK flag in August and follows Stena Drillmax and Stena Carron on to the UK ship Register. All three vessels are owned by Stena Drilling Ltd and classed by Det Norske Veritas.
The vessel is 228m long with full level three dynamic positioning and is capable of drilling in water depths of 3,000m. It has 46MW installed power, 35MW propulsive power from six thrusters, and an operating crew of up to 180. High performance and safety are primary elements in the design, which accords with the UK Ship Register¡¦s belief that quality is non-negotiable.
As part of the UK Ship Registration service, Stena Drilling Ltd has an appointed Customer Service Manager, (CSM) based in Aberdeen, whom they can contact with any issue or query. The CSM acts as a single point of liaison during the survey and certification process to help ensure consistency and quality of service to the company. The UK is not a flag of convenience but instead offers added value and the CSM role is one of the ways UK Ship Register delivers a superior service for customers.
The UKSR also offers:
„X Dedicated customer service – focused assistance throughout and after registration
„X The UKSR is in the top three best performers on the Paris and Tokyo MoU White Lists
„X Qualship 21 status for UK ships entering US ports
„X Alternative Compliance Scheme (ACS) whereby the survey and certification process is streamlined by minimising duplication of effort with the Classification Societies
