Loran is dead, Long live GNSS!

The LORAN tower in Port Clarence is the tallest of its kind in the country but the condition of the tower is deteriorating and with no funding for repairs the tower is at ever-increasing risk of an uncontrolled collapse. Alaska’s tallest man-made structure will be the tallest structure ever intentionally brought down with explosives in a controlled demolition.

Fire on the Semi-Sub Transocean Winner

A fire broke out on the platform “Transocean Winner” in the North Sea on Christmas Day. The crew were sent to the lifeboats, but were not evacuated, and no one was injured in the fire.

Normand Clipper gets ATP Contract

The Engineering and Construction Company Clough Limited has been contracted by US offshore oil and gas services company, Bluewater Industries, to provide installation support services associated with innovative ATP Telemark Hub Project in the Gulf of Mexico.
The Normand Clipper was selected for the job due to accommodation quality, fuel carrying and transfer ability, deck size, crane lifting & dynamic positioning sea keeping capabilities.
